Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a colorful mix of personalities, and a gripping narrative featuring angels, demons, and sinister influences increasing in influence within the city.

Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.

The Warrior Group Introduced

The third episode finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the initial group of heroes who will split off from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the additional parties.

The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (played by Travis), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).

Dividing the Cast

With a large ensemble, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.

Hence, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Questers.

What Defines the Soldiers Table

According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven narrative style where non-violent answers are scarce.

Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear out of place, but the developments of episode 3 show why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.

Reasons to Leave

To begin with, the group understands precisely where to go next after a intense opening clash with The Crow Keepers.

A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing started the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his own means, breaking into the secret base, attacking Thimble, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.

Casimir then cleared his liabilities and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.

Personal Motivations

Moreover, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:

  • Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, desires vengeance.
  • Kattigan knows the region and advises that it is a hostile place.
  • The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
  • However, their position as key figures in the powerful family could help the party access places they usually can’t.
  • Furthermore, Teor swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him everywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that control the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:

  • Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
  • The strong figure and Wicander turned against the influential house and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
  • The fighter is marked for death by House Halovar.

This results in them no alternative but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.

Future Episodes

Based on episode three’s follow-up content, we find out that the Soldiers table will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to round up the Seekers and Schemers parties.
