Assassin's Creed Reveals Bizarre Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a surprising collaboration that challenges conventional forecasts, the game developer has revealed an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Disclosed
According to the formal release, "A mysterious meeting leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where whispers of forbidden practices and monstrous metamorphoses resonate through the obscurity." The plot presents a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who charges the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret sect.
The mission concentrates on "peculiar trials and a fearsome foe" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Changes
The trailer features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser ends with a dramatic scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Bonus Material
Players who finish the adventure will acquire an unique katana alongside numerous artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Newest Free Story Addition
This release also adds the game's latest free story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive abilities: Naoe introduces a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also features a original environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
